Awards

In 2021, we were awarded ABC’s 2020 “Excellence in Construction” Award in the Excavation/Site Work Category for our “Emergency Work Feeder 69019 Potomac River” Project. This project was performed for PEPCO and included 2 of the largest manholes on PEPCO’s system, one on each side of the river.  There was also extensive excavation, environmental, vehicle and pedestrian controls, and marine work involved in the successful completion of this emergency project.

The Potomac Electric Power Company would like to acknowledge CW & Sons for their commitment to excellence in the area of Civil Construction Services. CW & Sons is one of Pepco’s top tier civil construction contractors approved to perform all civil related services throughout all their lines of business… Pepco values CW & Sons as a contractor that always delivers a quality product on time and on budget with outstanding attention to details.

Partnerships

DC Infrastructure Academy

The DCIA is an initiative of Mayor Muriel Bowser and is under the District Department of Employment Services (DOES) that is specifically designed to get DC Residents the basic skills they need to enter the construction industry.  This paid, 14-week training program provides graduates with specialized training in safety, physical fitness, mechanical and other occupation-specific skills.  Participants receive industry certifications including OSHA-10, Flagger, and CPR/First Aid in addition to hands-on training experience in the Utility Training Yard. Upon completion of the program, the goal is to have 100% of the graduates receive job offers from Pepco or one of their partner contractors.

CW & Sons has been a partner with PEPCO under the Energy Infrastructure program at the Academy since 2019.  We take and active role in this partnership by performing onsite training during each cohort and hiring graduates of the program.

Interested in learning more about the program and application process? Join DCIA at an upcoming virtual information session, held every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:00am. REGISTER HERE TODAY!

Thank you for your commitment and for sharing our vision. It is rewarding to watch the DCIA program evolve with each new cohort, and to see the growth and accomplishments of each graduate.
