Potomac River crossing – Emergency Repair

In 2019 CW & Sons managed the civil construction for an emergency repair on an underground PEPCO transmission line which crossed the Potomac River. This unique project involved coffer dams in the Potomac River, water filtration systems, safe handling of contaminated soils, coordination with dive teams, underground conduit installation, support of armored cable installation, and some of the largest PEPCO Manholes ever installed measuring 42 feet long x 10 feet wide. With the help of our marine subcontractors, and support from our many other partners this project was awarded an ABC Specialty Project of the Year.
