Takoma to Sligo Underground Transmission Line Project

The Takoma to Sligo project was our single largest project to date. The project began in 2017 and was completed in January 2022. This 69kv underground transmission project had thirty-two (32) 7-ft x 21-ft pre-cast manholes installed in Maryland and DC. The work involved more than 66,000 cubic yards of soil excavated, over 98 miles of conduit installed in 7 miles of trench. This project included rock excavation within Silver Spring at depths of 18 feet deep. Featuring over 500 linear feet of box tunnels, raker wall supports within electric substations, and excavations beyond 20 feet deep across four different governing jurisdictions.
